Visit from The Warren School
posted by CS on Saturday, 20 April 2013 18:24
On Wednesday 17th April, we were very pleased to host another visit from The Warren School in Lowestoft, as part of the EastFeast project. The children came with their teacher and helpers and started with lunch in the Village Hall. We then moved down to the Orchard where everyone had a chance to try Lane's Prince Albert (very crisp and dry) and Worcester Pearmain (much sweeter) apple juices. We also had some fun finding the trees of the same varieties which we had identified for the children with white streamers. The apple juices had come from Hillfield Nursery at Haddiscoe who produce many single variety juices and sell them at Halesworth and Southwold markets.
Is there anything quite so good as both the smell and taste of a ripe greengage picked hot in the sun?   (Eleanour Sinclair Rohde)
