Fruit Tree Pruning Course 9 March 2013

I attended a Fruit Tree Pruning Course run by local arboriculturalist, Paul Jackson from Bungay. This was held at Barsham Old Hall, home of Graham and Nicky Elliott where there is well-established orchard. We learnt about the principles of fruit tree pruning, both in the early years of a tree's life and with more mature trees. We also covered the best equipment to use, and then in the afternoon we all took part in a practical session pruning a large Discovery Apple Tree. I will now be able to share all this with others to help us look after our trees.
My horse likes apples, chopped or neat, sour or sweet: autumn is welcome.   (Drew's haiku)
